Biggest Morning Tea & Community Bake Off
The Biggest Morning Tea and Community Bake Off has become a much-loved event in Roxby Downs, bringing people together to support an important cause while building community connections. This year's event welcomed more than 200 attendees and raised $1,544.80 for Cancer Council.
What makes this event so special is the variety of people it brings together. Families, school students, parents, grandparents, community groups, and familiar faces from across town all gathered in one place, creating opportunities to connect, share stories, and support one another.
The Bake Off featured sweet, savoury, and children's categories, with community members proudly showcasing their baking talents. Throughout the morning, people chatted over tea and coffee, sampled delicious entries, voted for their favourites, participated in games and raffles, and supported the fundraiser through generous donations.
The event was made possible through strong community support. Saint Barbara's Parish School played a huge role, with students helping run games and raffles while also entering the competition. Local businesses and community members contributed prizes, food, and resources, while Roxby Link generously provided the venue. These contributions helped create a welcoming event that everyone could enjoy.
"It was a really great event. The food was amazing, and it was wonderful seeing so many people come together for a good cause."
A big thank you to the volunteers, local businesses, schools, community groups, and residents who generously gave their time and support.
The Biggest Morning Tea and Community Bake Off continues to show the strength of the Roxby Downs community. More than a fundraiser, it is a chance for people to connect, support one another, and be part of something meaningful while giving back to a cause that impacts so many families.
